The organizers of the previous Pan-American Conferences of Traffic and Transportation Engineering decided to create the Pan-American Society of Transportation Research (PANAMSTR). The webpage www.panamstr.org. This new organization will help us promote transportation research and sustainable transportation systems in the Pan-American world and provide a forum for the interchange of ideas in this important part of the world. To this effect, a committee was created to define the articles of Constitution for PANAMSTR. At this stage, we have invited all attendees of the last PANAM Conference to vote on the following items.
PANAM is the premier transportation conference in Latin-America. It is more than 20 years old and the largest transportation event that focuses on this important part of the world. Held bi-annually since its inception in 1980, this important conference is regularly attended by several hundred transportation researchers, senior decision makers and transportation professionals, including present and past Transportation Ministers, from nearly all countries in the Americas, Portugal, and Spain.
The main objective of PANAM is to provide a forum for the discussion and sharing of experiences related to transportation research. Participation in PANAM XV would enable you to get in direct contact with key North, Central and South American researchers and decision makers, and develop formal links of exchange of ideas and cooperation with transportation professionals from the Americas, Caribbean countries, Portugal Spain and Europe.
